The following information regarding HGV axle weights is for guidance purposes only.

Maximum HGV Non-Driving Axle Weights

• Single non-driving axle: 10 tonnes
• Non-driving tandem axle: 20 tonnes
• Tri-axle: 24 tonnes

Maximum HGV Driving Axle Weights

• Single driving axle: 11.5 tonnes
• Driving tandem axle: 18 tonnes
• Driving tandem axle: 19 tonnes*

* Applies where the driving axle is fitted with twin tyres and road friendly suspension or where the driving axle is fitted with twin tyres and no axle has an axle weight exceeding 9.5 tonnes
